It took Jace longer than he liked to get the words out of his mouth. He could blame it on the way he was trying to eat through Dick's thick thigh muscle like a turkey leg, but feelings were things that Jace wrestled with daily. Most of them were reflected inward, unhappy with himself, with what he was doing, with how he was portraying himself, for finally feeling anything. The words finally burbled up, eyes flicking over to try and catch Dick's face. "Love you too." He meant it, and it was like peeling a scab off that had just formed. When Dick shifted forward and Jace felt his thumb get swallowed, his confidence returned, thrusting his thumb in further, turning it and then making it into a hook inside his lover. A tiny tug and he knew Dick was his, even though he'd already known that.
