( because he's seen dick shirtless before, seen the strong build of his chest, biceps, shoulders. those are definitely the kind of shoulders that could kill a man — or at least put eddie to sleep.

the idea, as extreme as it may be, seems to ease eddie some. they've got options, and planes aren't that bad. he's done the whole plane thing before, and he lived to tell about it. this probably won't be any different. maybe it'll be a boring flight... but dick's sultry gaze and teasing toes suggest otherwise. that, too, helps eddie to relax. he luxuriates in the sureness of dick's hands, and the playfulness of his feet.

and take off ends up being fine.

true to his prediction, they don't immediately fall out of the sky. he still can't look towards the window, though, opting to pull down the shutter to block out the view of the ground. so long as he doesn't think about it, it feels like they could be anywhere.

he brings dick's hand to his lips, smiles apologetically. )
