[The fire escape isn't rigged with too much security since Dick uses it to come and go without being seen. It does take a fingerprint though, and Dick hasn't put Jason's in there since they're relatively new to hanging out. He's had a few visitors from the multiverse pass through by now, but it's never the same. He never knows how it's going to turn out.
This Jason is softer than the two others he's come across, gentler. He's happy to have him over. It chases away the strange loneliness that Dick isn't accustomed to. Plus, he's found that he enjoys their time together, talking together. Maybe it's strange considering all things-- or maybe it's based on how in his life he fucked everything up with the younger Jason and created a strange messed up bond in his mind. Who knows.
Seeing Jason at the door, Dick shakes his head. He would have a bruise on his face. Dick's bruises are across his ribs tonight. His finger is a little sore too, but that's only because it was slammed against a wall. Life.
Turning to the tv, Dick laughed and clapped Jason on the shoulder as he took the beer.]
Completely dire. I need my heart to go on. Don't you want to sketch me in only a necklace, Jay baby?
[He snorted, and took the beer to the fridge to cool, taking out two of his own already cold ones for them to sip on.]
[Jason's eyes rolled heavenward in feigned dramatic disdain. But he smiled lopsidedly afterward.]
Sure. Draw me like one of your French redheads, Grayson.
[He took the cold beer that Dick returned with and dropped down onto the sofa, popping it open and taking a sip.
Funny, this Dick wasn't as messy as Jason's, and it was a completely different apartment. But it still had that vaguely homey feel that Dick's had, the few times Jason had been there for more than a quick stop.]
I have French redheads? I'd love to know where I'm stashing them. I think you've got me confused with Bruce.
[Dick snorts out a laugh and flops down on the couch next to Jason. He picks up the remote and hands it over to Jason with a twist of his wrist pointing out the button that would bring up a list of all the movies he's got on hand, which is most of them considering he filters this through the Bat computer system that he still has full access to.
The beer rolls down his throat in a long guzzle, cold and smooth. Dick sighs contentedly.]
Your choice, and uh, this place I've been at around six months. I took about two weeks to decide that Kory and I were not meant to be in a relationship before that, and right before that we were in Metropolis defeating Brother Blood and Trigon...again. It was a bigger mess this time round. The world didn't end, and so obviously it all worked out.
Figured if you had any French girls, they'd be redheads. Your Bruce might, but I haven't seen him bimboing around as Bruce Wayne that much. Think he's past that stage.
[Jason's still put on the dog and pony show sometimes, but it was a lot more rare than it had been way back when Jason was Robin.
He takes the remote, making a face but scrolling obediently. He never knew what to watch. Too many choices annoyed him. But he settled on Die Hard, even if it wasn't Christmas. Still a classic, and one he was pretty sure one he'd watched with his world's Dick a couple of times. Tastes probably carried over.]
If we watched enough of these, wonder if we'd start finding ones where they star different actors or have different endings or something.
[Jason's nose wrinkles in a grimace at mention of Brother Blood and Trigon.]
Don't count on it being the only time they pop up. But good job saving the world.
My Bruce is way beyond that stage. He... well, I don't want to mention really what happened. It's pissed off a Jason before. Let's say he's not himself and he's locked in the mansion with a person that takes care of him. Alfred's been gone for a few years now. That was the first of a few bad things. Master Wayne was proper British, and ..
[Dick shook his head. They certainly didn't often see eye to eye on much. This Dick is darker than the other, and it shows now and then. He's doing his best to not be as closed off as he was, but he's not going to smile through as many things as the other Nightwing, and he doesn't have nearly as many puns.
All the choices are annoying, and Dick never much likes watching TV that much either. He's more fond of quiet nights of training or paperwork. It's odd having company, not that he doesn't enjoy it. That part is nice. Having a person at his place is certainly nice.
He's missed this quite a bit. ]
I never even thought about that. I wonder if they would. I guess it's completely possible, but thank goodness the classics are the same in our worlds at least.
[Watching the grimace, Dick reaches over and pats Jason a few times.]
This is my second time with Trigon. There's always possibilities, but Brother Blood? He's pretty dead. Rachel and Conner took him out, then Gar did something with the Red. I don't know exactly what, but it all came together at the right time. Really, most of it is about Rachel. She's incredibly powerful, and a college student right now. I'm proud.

How long have you been staying here?
