The way the text had been laid out, Dick wasn't exactly sure how to respond to it. His heart decidedly quickened. How he felt about Tim was profound in its own right, but was it love already? He wasn't sure. He'd known differing types of love for several people, and sure, he loved Tim like a brother at a point, but all that was changing now. Tim was far more than a brother. He was Dick's boyfriend, partner, and submissive. He was the man that Dick wanted to be with for the foreseeable future.
Driving to the nest had Dick quiet as he thought about love and an injured Tim. It was their job, and they both took injuries like they took being yelled at by prick criminals. It was nothing. Still, the way Tim initially phrased it had Dick slightly worried. He wanted to lay hands on his lover and make sure everything was alright.
Once he got to the nest, he wasn't sure how the security was set up. Tim being the smartest of them all, would have it rigged tightly, Dick figured. He nosed around and decided he probably shouldn't go prodding around until Tim was there-- at least this first time. So he sent a text announcing his arrival and hoped Tim would be there reasonably soon so he could lessen his worries.
